We are in the restaurant. So my experience and review reflect this only.
First class food first class service. What more do you want. It's lovely to experience cuisine like this. It's rare to find fine dining that's is proud to use local produce (meat, fish and veg) the menu is quite small but that just means the chefs can focus on producing beautiful dishes. I thought the prices were affordable mains were around 20-23 pounds. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection, served on a hot plate, everything was so tasty we cleared our plates. You could taste the quality of the ingredients. I can't rate this establishment high enough. I've eaten in many eateries across UK and EU and it's up there. I try to give an honest review and this is my experience. The wine was really good quality to and I thought reasonably priced 7.60 chardonnay 175ml. The restaurant was packed at 7pm as dining stops at 8.30pm on the Saturday we were there. The portions for us any way are the right size as it allows you to have a starter, a main meal plus a pudding without feeling so full you never want to eat again. My husband and I loved our meals this evening. We chose Venison and fillet of Sea bass all from local suppliers. The food melted in the mouth. We enjoyed ourselves so much we are coming back in Dec. We live about an hour away but it's well worth the trip up or even a stop over. Lovely outside space for eating and drinking. We didn't stay in the hotel guest rooms but thought I'd mention this in case you were looking for accommodation. Highly recommend. P.S sorry the only pic I have is empty plates.

Went here for lunch with my elderly parents on what was the hottest day of the year 19/7/24. I’ve never been before but have to say this is now on my radar as a regular, food, location, staff, service all amazing. If I hadn’t been driving my elderly parents, I’d have sat outside in the sun for the rest of the day. You will be seeing us soon….
Food & drinks: Cannot fault the food or drinks fantastic is all that needs to be said…

An amazing afternoon in the garden, on the one decent day this year. The lovely lunch, drinks and service. An amazing place, that you simply must try out. Great food, service and value for money. I'm a huge fan of this place, and so will you be, if you give it a chance ☘️

Absolutely beautiful hotel, bar and food. We have been going for over 3 years. The owner is so accommodating and the food is always delicious. The staff are again always so polite and helpful and just nice. I would recommend this to place to anyone. It’s a best kept secret in Somerset!
Rooms: Very comfy, clean and just relaxing
Safety: Everything is there to see if any problems
Food & drinks: Foods always so delicious. Always a good selection of drinks.
Noteworthy details: It’s very quiet. Always clean. The staff are so accommodating and will get you anything you need for your stay in reason! Never had an issue here. Love staying. Spread the word. We need to help keep these family owned businesses open.

We went for Sunday lunch, 4 of us , we booked a table in advance, we were shown straight to our table on arrival, we were not pushed but given time to choose and chat, orders were taken and waiting time short , the food was excellent, fine dining at its best, you certainly can't go wrong eating there. We were made to feel welcome and not hurried after our meal, thank you Devonshire for a lovely Sunday lunch, Book up and go , you won't be disappointed, there is a service charge added to your bill but it is discretionary, so you can ask for it to be removed , we did not having really enjoyed ourselves

Absolutely stunning pub in a stunning village. We were a little early for a business meeting, so went for a drive and stumbled across this beautiful place, so decided to grab a quick bite to eat.
Food was beautiful. Staff were fantastic.
Definitely be going back for an overnight stay next time we are down
Thank you again and see you soon. ♥️
